Data Protection Information, GDPR

In all European Union (EU) member states, starting from 25.05.2018, Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, also known by the acronym GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), becomes applicable.

The legal grounds for processing these data are:

performance of the contract and preliminary steps for this contract (art. 6(1) b GDPR) – for data collected through the order form or data received as a result of customer service relations;
legal obligations (art. 6 (1) c GDPR) for data required for invoicing;
consent (art. 6 (1) a GDPR) for data used for marketing purposes for website visitors (e.g. newsletter subscription, marketing cookies, etc.);
legitimate interest (art. 6 (1) f GDPR) for data used for marketing to current clients (pursuant to Law 506/2004 art. 12 (2)) of www.npu.ro, security of the www.npu.ro website (recital 49 GDPR), and data used internally for optimizing the www.npu.ro website (anonymized or pseudonymized, as applicable).

Personal data that you send to NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL (via the website or by email) or that you complete while using the www.npu.ro website are processed. All information you complete / send while using www.npu.ro must be complete, accurate, and up to date.

ANY ATTEMPT TO ACCESS THE PERSONAL DATA OF ANOTHER USER, MODIFY THE CONTENT OF THE www.npu.ro WEBSITE, OR IMPAIR THE PERFORMANCE OF THE SERVER ON WHICH THE www.npu.ro WEBSITE RUNS WILL BE CONSIDERED AN ATTEMPTED FRAUD AGAINST THE www.npu.ro WEBSITE AND WILL TRIGGER CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION AGAINST WHOEVER HAS ATTEMPTED SUCH ACTIONS.

What information we collect from you and how this information is used

www.npu.ro collects personal data from its users in three ways:

directly from the user
traffic data, from the user’s browser
through cookies.

Personal data collected directly

When you access www.npu.ro, create an account, or fill out a form, we may ask for your first name, last name, and/or email address, as well as other data necessary for communication.

When you access our support/consulting services, we may request an email address or phone number. We reserve the right to record any communication conducted for the support services of www.npu.ro for the purpose of improving our services. We will inform you before the communication begins that it may be recorded. These data are used, for example, to contact you in order to resolve a complaint/request. We may also request other data that may constitute personal data, only to the extent necessary for these purposes. These data are retained until consent is revoked.

Also, when you subscribe to our newsletter, we ask you to provide an email address, as well as a name and other information necessary to personalize our communication with you. These data are retained until consent is revoked or until your activity indicates that you are no longer interested in our communication. Your personal data for the newsletter are also shared with our newsletter service provider, who acts as a data processor for NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL by delivering the newsletter service.

All processors we work with are located within the European Union, and those in the United States have signed Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with us, to which we have added supplementary data protection safeguards.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, as well as the right to restriction of processing or data portability. You also have the right to object to processing. For data collected based on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise these rights, you may submit a request by email to office@npu.ro. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority or bring a claim before a court of law.

We use profiling systems for visitors of the www.npu.ro website to deliver personalized commercial communications and offers sent via the site, push notifications, email, or SMS, as applicable.

Information from traffic monitoring reports

When you visit a website, you reveal certain information about yourself, such as your IP address, time of your visit, the referral site from which you accessed ours, and device information (such as hardware model, operating system version, browser used, etc.). NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL, like other controllers, logs this information to improve user experience and the quality of services provided.

Any traffic statistics regarding our users that we provide to third-party advertising networks or partners are supplied solely as aggregated data and do not include any personally identifiable information about any individual user.

Information obtained through cookies

How we protect the information collected from you

NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL does not share the information collected (via the website, email, or telephone) with third parties without your express prior consent.

Your access to certain services and information on the site (including access to your personal data) is protected by a username and password. We recommend that you do not disclose these credentials to anyone. www.npu.ro will never ask for your account password in unsolicited messages or phone calls. We therefore advise you not to reveal this password to anyone who requests it.

These recommendations are designed to prevent unauthorized access to your personal information or correspondence when working on a computer network in a public location (for example, internet cafes).

You should also keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information in an online communication environment (such as email, forums, discussion groups, or chat services), the information you reveal can easily be collected and used by unauthorized parties. Although www.npu.ro makes every effort to protect your personal information, you understand and acknowledge that you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any security credentials (passwords, usernames, etc.) associated with the accounts you have created through our services.

We guarantee, however, that we will make every effort to ensure the security of your personal data within our systems, in accordance with the security standards required by applicable Romanian legislation.

We make dedicated efforts to protect www.npu.ro and our users against unauthorized access, as well as unauthorized alteration, disclosure, or destruction of the information we hold. In particular:

We provide you with secure access to your personal data.
We review our information collection, storage, and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems.
We restrict access to personal information, granting it exclusively to NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL employees, contractors, and agents who require access to process it on our behalf. These individuals are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be subject to disciplinary action or termination of contract if they fail to meet these obligations.

However, as effective as our security systems are, no system is entirely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the total security of our systems, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the internet.

Who has access to the information collected from you

Sharing personal data with third parties under the conditions stipulated above implies your acceptance of the fact that such recipients may maintain independent privacy and data collection practices. NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL has no control over and cannot guarantee any legal aspects arising from the use of these independent privacy practices.

We will also share personal information with companies, organizations, or individuals outside of NPU ARTECHNOLOGY SRL if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to:

What are your rights?

If you have reason to believe that any personal data we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request access to this information, request its rectification or erasure, request the restriction of processing, or object to the processing, as well as the right to data portability. If you wish to file a complaint regarding how we have processed your personal data, please contact our Data Protection Officer at office@npu.ro. The Data Protection Officer will contact you to resolve the matter raised.

You may also contact the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) at www.dataprotection.ro to lodge a complaint.

Amendments

Politica noastră de confidenţialitate se poate modifica periodic. Drepturile dvs. în baza acestei Politici de confidenţialitate nu vor fi diminuate fără consimţământul dvs. explicit. Orice modificări aduse Politicii de confidenţialitate vor fi postate pe această pagină şi, în cazul în care modificările sunt importante, vom furniza o notificare cu o mai mare vizibilitate (inclusiv, în cazul anumitor servicii, o notificare prin e-mail privind modificările aduse Politicii de confidenţialitate).
